Grid web services issue RESOLVED
We have detected and mitigated a distributed denial of service attack (DDOS), and the issue that was causing occasional sluggish connections to the Modwest Grid webservers is resolved now. Thanks for your patience.

Occasional, brief slowdowns or connection failures to the Modwest Grid web cluster have been reported, and engineers are looking into the issue.

Modwest Grid Maintenance Sunday 1/22 2PM MST
UPDATE 2:36PM: Maintenance is complete.

On Sunday, January 22nd, at approximately 2PM Mountain Time, Modwest
engineers will conduct maintenance on the storage subsystems of the Modwest
Grid.

Technical Info:

Last week we migrated storage services for some accounts to a backup node
to address a service issue. We need to migrate storage services back to the
primary node for these accounts.

Downtime Caused?

Web services, FTP, SSH, and Cron services will be interrupted for some
customers, for up to 20 minutes. Other customers may notice a slowdown or
brief interruption.

We anticipate any interruption will be brief, and engineers and support
staff will be available to help with any issues that arise.

Modwest Grid email services will not be affected, nor will this
maintenance affect any VPS or managed server.

Engineers are investigating an issue that is making some websites on the Modwest Grid unavailable.

UPDATE: A storage server issue is the cause of the current outage. We are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Slow access to some mailboxes
Modwest engineers are currently working to improve performance of POP3/IMAP mailboxes on the Modwest Grid.

Update: 2012-01-12 10:13:
Modwest Engineers are replacing a faulty drive in one of the Modwest Grid Mail Cluster storage servers. While the RAID array rebuilds with the new drive, customers with mailboxes on the affected storage server will see some degraded performance with their mail client throughout the day.

Update 2012-01-13 07:49:
The RAID array rebuild is mostly complete, and we anticipate a several more hours are needed, during which access to some mailboxes (particularly via webmail) will be slower than usual.
